Made with the shafts of broken Hockey Sticks, this is a Man's Chair that's more like a throne. When sitting in it, the phase "Honey get me a beer" somehow seems to flow off your tongue. Thick arms and legs, tough as nails with absolutely no flex. If there is a drawback it's the fact that they are the heaviest chair we have built to date. These puppies won't blow off the dock. With these plans anyone should be able to build this chair in about 15-20 hours. |

Finishing: The first year this chair was made, I failed to realize that the hockey sticks were not properly UV protected. They are mainly used indoors and didn't need to be. I wanted to maintain the look of the original sticks and didn't apply anything to them. Well, one year at the cottage and the sticks had turned gray and most of the lettering had flaked off. On subsequent chairs we applied 3 coats of Cetol 1 to the entire chair, not just the fresh wood. |
